The story
Bringing commercial and residential routing more inline with our rollout stop cards. If user needs to jump ahead or go back to the index of WOs, the user clicks the big route button to pause the route and take a look at the sequence, select the card which then restarts the route – automatically changing button back to green. (keeps users focused on a green “go” state, Yellow, caution state, and Red – “stopped”. Of course, we use icons too, not color alone.
Ideally drivers work in the sequence setup by the dispatcher. Then confirming each step is all that is required and no other gesture is needed by the driver. Advancing the card is automatic and all else is task-based autogenerated. This reduces interaction with the device to the bear minimum and helps keep focus on the road. Dispatch has more control over setup and routing of drivers, therefor reducing later exceptions (errors) and changes.
